Mobile phone manufacturer Nokia has been commended for its strong green credentials.
According to Dow Jones Indexes, Nokia adopts more eco-friendly practices than any other technology firm.
Timo Ihamuotila, executive vice president and chief financial officer at the company, hailed this as a "great recognition" of its commitment to operating in a sustainable manner.
"Sustainability is not a trend but our way of doing business," he commented.
Indeed, he stated that Nokia is committed to looking beyond its own operations to "harness the power of mobile technology to address environmental, social and economic issues".
This is the second time in succession than Nokia has come out on top in Dow Jones' Sustainability Index Review.
The findings come after Ronan Dunne of O2 stated that sustainability is increasingly becoming an issue to consumers who are buying a new mobile phone.
He said people are becoming more and more aware of how the technology they use impacts on the environment and are therefore looking to buy eco-friendly devices.
