Numerous new phones being scheduled for a summer release will make the next few months highly competitive at the smartphone end of the market. Of the 4 billion mobiles around the world, only 100 million are smartphones with tremendous potential for new sales in the months to come.
And it starts the first week in June when Sprint launches the Palm Pre.
Apple’s iPhone, which has sold over 5 million so far, is due to launch a new, third-generation iPhone with a faster processor, better GPS and an upgraded camera.
Samsung is to launch the i7500, the Google Android -based smartphone following recent launches by HTC and Motorola for that operating system.
And Microsoft has Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, although not considered to be a strong contender.
Hopefully this will be good consumers as the more competitive the better the prices and deals available.
