Now here’s a novel idea, a wrist watch from LG that’s also a phone, to have its world premiere in the UK in July. It’s called the LG Touch Watch and is 3G capable with a music player, camera and basic organiser functions too. It can also be used for face-to-face video calls.
It's a first but we don’t really know how practical it will be, although it does have a touchscreen display, or how much it will cost.
Frank Lee from LG Electronics said, "If we had full control over this, we'd like to see this priced for the masses."
It’s obviously a bit larger than your average wristwatch at around 1.4cm thick and a 3.6cm screen.
Most of the ‘phone's’ functions are accessed either via one of three buttons on the side or the touchscreen which takes you to virtual menu pages. The Bluetooth headset is especially useful as it then allows you to use the voice-activated dialling.
From a fashion perspective you can even set the touchscreen to display different styles of watch face from a traditional analogue look to a more trendy digital perspective.
