The Government has divided a significant share of £170 million in public sector mobile voice and data contracts among the big four UK network operators.

Along with BT, O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone won supply contracts in "mobile voice and data", for straightforward mobile subscriptions in the public sector.

All contracts became active January 1.Vodafone has traditionally enjoyed a monopoly of public sector business, particularly within the government sector. O2 said last month it leads Vodafone in the SME space and is closing in on it in the corporate sector. Orange and T-Mobile are some way behind. 3 are effectively non-existent in the corporate sector.
