Nokia is planning to expand its use of third party developers and partners by expanding the titles in its app store and also by adding more support for social networking sites.
The company seems to have changed its strategy by encouraging third party developers and partners. It has simplified the end-user experience by making all mobile games available through Ovi store in addition to existing channels.
Niklas Savander, Executive Vice President of Services at Nokia, said “The main objective of our plan is to improve and simplify Nokia services and to increase the opportunities for third party developers and other partners to create compelling services, and to accelerate the development of a common platform for Nokia's different service offerings.”
In a formal statement issued by the company, he said "this will create a better experience for the millions of customers of Nokia and spur opportunities for game developers". Nokia plans to add more third party partners including social networking sites to share features on its devices. Nokia is set to realise cost efficiencies with this plan, which includes compatibility and collaboration activities.
