A modern recycling plant has been setup in Newport that's completely equipped with advanced technology. It was opened by the First Minister Rhodri Morgan who said "Newport will become one of the flagships for the recycling industry”. He praised Sims Recycling Solutions for its effort in recycling IT products. This plant is capable of recycling half a million tonnes of electronic waste every year.
Apart from this, the plant will eliminate and process the toxic elements present in the materials and cut up metals in the recycling process.
There is also a continuous demand for recycling old mobile phones. Sims Recycling Solutions Chief Graham Davy said:"We are happy about this modern plant as it will meet the demands of the UK Environment Agency for recycling in the longer term and is good news for people in Newport. It's one of the largest companies in recycling electrical and electronic goods across the globe.
