Though the HTC Touch Pro2 may be the best Windows Mobile sliding Qwerty smartphone to date, it's expected there will be stiff competition from the Samsung B7610 Lourve. The Samsung B7610 Lourve is likely to be released as ‘Omnia Pro’in the coming months.
This unique product from Samsung, "The Samsung B7610 Lourve", features a 3.5in WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display with resistive screen as WM does not support capacitive screens. The product also features HSDPA/HSUPA, WiFi, aGPS, a 5.1MP camera with autofocus and LED flash and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone has incorporated within it an FM tuner, native support for DivX, WMV and H.264 video playback, TV-out, 1GB of internal memory with a 32GB compatible microSD expansion slot, hefty 1500mAh battery and a huge 800MHz CPU to speed up the entire processing activity.
It however, remains to be seen whether Samsung can meet the expectations regarding skinning Windows Mobile the way HTC does with its latest TouchFLO. But, with the kind of resources at its disposal, the Korean major is likely to fulfill market expectations. It is very likely that the B7610/Louvre/Omnia Pro will hit the market in September or October of this year.
