Samsung proudly announced the world’s first solar powered GSM mobile phone with the new E1107, also known by the catchier name Crest Solar. The phone is dual band network with GSM (900/1800MHZ) and will work in 2g networks only. It was announced in June 2009 all over the world, and has many features, one being that it can be charged from anywhere as long as there's sunlight. It can be charged without the use of electricity.

The phone weighs around 85gms and its dimensions are 105.2X44.2X16.4MM and it smart display contains 65kcolors. It has many alerts like vibration; downloadable polyphonic mp3 mp4 ring tones and it also has an FM radio. This phone contains a large capacity phonebook, up to 500+ entries can be stored and it maintains call records for up to 30 calls.
