T-mobile to use Google android operation software.
T-mobile plans to use new Google android operating software for its new devices.
Android competes with operating system made by Apple, Microsoft, Nokia and others. T-mobile plans to sell a home phone in 2010.
The extensive use of android would extend features and show the difference between home phones and computers. The new tablet-size phone is similar to a laptop without a keyboard and has a seven inch touch screen. It's used for basic jobs, such as handling calls, voicemail, e-mail and can also control the temperature on different devices at home.
Earlier T-mobile shared its great vision of connecting stylish devices at home and thus wanted to link phones, picture frames, digital cameras, security systems, webcams and television through its software and network services.
In August 2008 T-mobile became the fourth largest mobile phone operator after AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. T-mobile is the first carrier to sell mobile phones based on the android software, an operating system that is capable of basic functions for mobile phone devices.
Mark Hamblin says, "home phones with advanced software could offer people functions that go beyond what today's mobile phones do".
