If you’re worried about contracting Swine Flu you might want to make a trip to the iPhone app store and find out how you can use your mobile phone to avoid contracting the virus. It was only a matter of time before someone tried to exploit the outbreak of Swine Flu and iTunes app maker IntuApps has done exactly that. According to reports on TechCrunch, IntuApps has just submitted a swine flu tracker app for approval.
The Swine Flu tracker will keep you right up to date with the latest World Health Organisation threat level and purports to track cases of Swine Flu by identifying the current threat level, pinpointing places to avoid on a Google map - the app will show where confirmed and suspected cases can be found. There’s also a symptoms area, Swine Flu breaking news and a load of handy tips to keep you safe from this global infection.
If done properly the Swine Flu tracker could be quite a useful app, although making money out of people’s concerns about contracting the virus maybe a little steep! Having said that IntuApps are planning to give the app away for free once it’s available in the App Store.
It does still need to get approval from Apple before being released into the App Store but should be available from iTunes in the next few days. At which time you’ll know which places to avoid and be able to use your mobile phone to prevent yourself becoming infected!
