Yahoo displayed its new range of mobile applications for the 3G iphone and other mobile devices at the CTIA wireless trade show. Yahoo mobile is propagated as the only place to catch everything from e-mails and social networks to the latest news and weather report.

From the Apple store, applications can be downloaded for the Yahoo messenger which supports iphone and ipod users to send and retrieve mails, photos, address book and other tools. These can be accessed on 300 mobile handsets, and includes an HTML-enabled browser. You can bookmark social networks, news, RSS feeds, along with weather, stocks and horoscopes.

Users worldwide demand compelling mobile internet services offering increased personalisation, "says David Ko, Senior Vice President of Yahoo Mobile in a statement.

He added that "to make the best of the market potential and maintain leadership in mobile, we made Yahoo mobile, a dynamic starting point that allows users to know the world. They stay in contact through a range of communication services, adapting the content to define their experience for mobile Internet devices".

The company is looking to promote its Blueprint platform, which allows developers to build mobile sites and applications with access to multiple phones, including java, windows mobile and Symbian.
