If there’s one thing Apple can do extremely well: it’s keep a secret. Rumours have been orbiting the iPad 3 release for what seems like forever now, with the inevitable publicity juggernaut gathering daily momentum as a result. Everyone seems to have an opinion as to what the new iPad will be able to do, with tech experts across the globe trying to second-guess Apple in their quest to be the first with ‘ the big reveal’.
The latest hear ‘say, however, comes from the Bloomberg network; who are said to be using information passed on from people ‘familiar with the product’, perhaps adding a touch more heft to the gossip?
As most people have predicted, the changes aren’t actually going to be that noticeable unless you’re a user of the previous models, as the enhancements will be quite subtle. A faster quad-core processor has been mentioned, which will allow users to jump more swiftly between applications. Similarly, an improvement to the picture quality is another rumour that has now been generally accepted as a ‘nailed on’ truth.
Reviewing Apple’s strategy when it comes to selling mobile phones (think of the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 4 S) certainly points towards a set of more restrained changes to the iPad 3. Although another rumour that seems to be gaining weight is the release date: around mid-March time, so it seems we won’t have too long to wait to have all this speculation put to bed.
