Microsoft has finally announced its much anticipated Project Pink phones, MS Kin One and Kin Two. These two touchscreen devices are particularly designed as social networking phones. Users surfing social networking websites including Twitter and Face book will find it particularly useful.
Both phones have slide out QWERTY keyboards and come with some distinctive features. The Kin One is a smaller phone with a circular design and a resolution of 320 x 240 touchscreen display, a 5 mega pixel camera, VGA video recording and 4GB of storage capacity.
On the other hand, the Kin Two has a higher specification such as a larger touchscreen with a 480 x 320 pixel resolution, larger keyboard, an 8 mega pixel camera, and 8GB of built in storage space. Features such as social networking integration, Zune music player, videos, pod casts and FM radio are sported by both models.
The Microsoft Kin phones have been developed by Sharp to run on the NVIDIA Tegra platform. Although Microsoft has described Kin phones as "a new Windows Phone", it is unlikely to run on the Windows Phone 7 platform.
Vodafone UK has entered into an exclusive deal with Microsoft to sell these new mobiles in the UK. The two social networking phones will be available from the autumn although no information on pricing is yet known.
