As a result of customer acquisition since its launch in October 2007, Lebara Mobile has virtually doubled its revenue during the last year.
The UK business specialises in providing cheap, overseas calls for more than one million customers and the company overall has a total customer base of three million customers across the Nordic countries, Spain and the UK. It also recently ventured into Australia.
Yoganathan Ratheesan, the Chief Executive Officer and a founder said, “the UK business benefited from continued interest in Lebara’s proposition from the millions of UK residents with family in a vast range of different countries”.
The company is looking to target areas with a high ethnic population in order to increase growth even further. Cities such as Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds and Glasgow will be targeted first.
Offering free Lebara-to-Lebara calls and texts is another part of the strategy to grow its business although more approaches such as postpay or subsidised handset bundles have been decided against at this point in time.
Ratheesan said: ‘Growth is pretty strong in the current format and we want to support that growth for the coming year.’
