The world's largest social network LinkedIn has launched a new app for Blackberry smartphones. With more than 60 million members globally, LinkedIn already has apps for the iPhone and Palm Pre, and has given the brands strong links with the business community.
The new application for the BlackBerry allows professionals to access LinkedIn using the existing email, calendar, and contacts applications on their Blackberry handsets. The application is available on the BlackBerry Tour, BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry Bold series of smartphones and can be downloaded for free.
The LinkedIn application requires BlackBerry OS 4.3 or later to run on smartphone devices and BlackBerry OS 4.6 or later to support full integration of the apps with the Blackberry's native applications. The application is available globally in English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and Chinese languages and its key operations include search, messaging, network updates, connections, invitations and reconnections.
With the search option, users can quickly access LinkedIn profiles and prepare for a meeting whereas the message option enables them to manage their LinkedIn inboxes quite easily. Users can even build professional networks by using other options like connections, invitations and reconnections that help them to invite and make new connections.
