ZTE Set For Eight Handsets Release

The world's 6th largest mobile phone manufacturer, ZTE Corporation, is set to release eight new handsets in the UK. The company has officially declared that they’ll be shipping eight highly flexible handsets before the end of 2010.

The increasing popularity of ZTE will encourage consumers to sell mobile in order to experience these new handsets. The Chinese manufacturer, recognised more in this country as a supplier of dongles than handsets, hopes to sell in excess of 1.5 million units in the UK.

Out of the eight handsets, two will be Google Android devices, the first of which is called the Racer and will be running on Android 1.6. The Racer will arrive in a couple of months. It is a small device with a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen.

ZTE has a strong background in mobile phones in the UK as it has designed and manufactured phones for other brands. 3's Skypephone is very much a product of ZTE. However, the ZTE Racer will be only one of a number of handsets running on Android that will hit the UK market before the end of this year.
