Nothing screams class like a gaudy customised mobile phone case; we’ve all seen them, where individuals have decided that the original sleek black, uniform design was just not for them and they’ve decided to ‘personalize’ it, which of course we all know, is another way of saying ‘ruin it’.
Well now you can go one step further than just a case, and have an entire mobile phone which has been purposefully built to commemorate the Royal wedding between Will and Kate. Complete with engraved inscription of the couple's initials on the back casing, a picture of the young couple embracing on the phone’s wallpaper and even Mendelssohn’s wedding march as the ringtone.
The front of the handset is decorated with the Union Flag.
A number of companies are hoping to tap in to the soaring national spirit in the coming weeks, which of course is a pleasant way of saying that they will literally be trying to sell us anything by giving their products a Royal twist. And people will buy them. Coming to shops soon no doubt, a child’s asbestos dummy with Royal inscription and a badger-baiting kit as sponsored by Prince Phillip.
Alcatel will be cashing in on the national sprit by selling mobile phones inspired by the Royal Wedding; the One Touch handset will cost around £15 from Carphone Warehouse with a pay-as-you go plan. You may not want to commit yourself to a long-term contract as it's tricky to say how long it will last. The handset obviously, not the marriage.
