Sell Your Mobile Phone For Cash

In the UK, many of us own more than one mobile phone having one for business use and another for personal use. Due to this, it has been estimated that there are as many as 75 million mobile phones being used in UK and, according to a report by Ericsson, there will be 9 billion mobile phones in the world by 2017. That means that there will be more mobile phones in the world than people, as the US census bureau estimates that the world population will reach 7.4 billion during that same five years.

Each of us that own one or two mobile phones is likely to upgrade their phone in the next year or two, which is usually how we end up owning unwanted mobile phones. I know I’m going to sell my mobile to help reduce the number of phones out there so why not sell your mobile too?

Why Should I sell My Mobile?

The chances are that you have at least one mobile phone sat in a drawer somewhere at home that is just gathering dust and depreciating in value. Households with more than one occupant are likely to have even more, so there could be a significant amount of money sat waiting to be realised in your home. Depending on the make, model and condition of your phone it could be worth just a few pounds or in excess of £200, so it’s definitely worth taking a look online to see the value you could receive if you decide to sell mobile phone or phones.

Not only can you raise a bit of extra cash when you sell mobile but you’ll also be helping the environment by ensuring that the phone is recycled in an environmentally friendly way.

What Mobile Phone Brands Do You Recycle?

Fonebank recycle mobile phones from all the major mobile phone manufacturers including; Apple, Nokia, Blackberry, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, HTC, O2, Palm, T-Mobile, Sharp, Orange and Vodafone.

Does My Mobile Phone Need To Be Working?

We will buy your mobile phones for recycling whether they’re working or not. All we ask is that your mobile phone meets the following criteria;

Working Mobile Must:

  • Be 100% fully working
  • Be on a UK network
  • Be complete with SIM gate and all buttons
  • Included stylus if originally sold with the mobile
  • Have all buttons functioning correctly

Non-Working Mobile Phones Must:

  • Be on a UK network
  • Not be crushed, broken or bent in any way
  • Not be liquid damaged
  • Have no integral parts such as camera, LCD etc. missing or detached

So if yours is no longer working it may still be worth selling mobile to Fonebank as you can earn money from something you can’t use and it will be recycled for its parts, reused or disposed of responsibly.

How Do I Sell My Mobile?

If you like the sound of what you’ve read so far and you’d like to sell your mobile phone to Fonebank for recycling; all you have to do is type your mobile phones model number or its IMEI number into the Search bar. The mobile phone model will then be displayed along with the value that Fonebank will pay for a working phone. If your phone no longer works, select this option and a reduced value will be displayed. If you have more than one of the same mobile phone models to recycle, you can amend the quantity and then add to cart.

Once you have added your mobile phone you can then complete your order by confirming how we will receive your mobile phone. You can use any of the following options:

  • Post it using Special Delivery from your local Post Office. This is recommended as your mobile phone will be insured against loss up to a value of £500
  • Use our Freepost service
  • Drop it off in person at our office in London
  • If you have ten or more mobile phones to recycle, we can arrange a free courier service to collect them from you

Once we receive your mobile phones, we will make payment either by cheque or Bank Transfer on the same day that your order is processed. Cheques are posted first class and a Bank Transfer will have the cash in your account within 48 working hours.

Do I Need To Send Anything Else With My Phone?

All we need you to send to us is the mobile phone, its battery and any original stylus that accompanies the phone. We do not need mobile phone chargers, earphones and other accessories that you may have for your phone.

What Happens To My Mobile Phone?

Mobile phones and their battery pack are manufactured from a range of elements including lead, nickel and lithium amongst others, all of which are potentially damaging to the environment if they are not disposed of properly and just end up in a local landfill site. Fonebank is environmentally accredited in accordance with ISO14001 so you can be sure that your mobile phone will either be reused or recycled and disposed of in an environmentally responsible way.

Why Sell Your Mobile To Fonebank?

By recycling your old mobile phones with Fonebank you are assured that we will pay great prices; a fact that has resulted in us paying out over £50 million to thousands of happy and satisfied customers who believe that we offer excellent customer service.

Can I Recycle Any Other Items With Fonebank?

Fonebank will also recycle other gadgets including iPads, tablets, iPods, e-readers and a selection of games consoles, so if you’ve upgraded not only your mobile phone but any of these gadgets too, why not take a look to see what these may be worth too?

Just think what you could spend that cash on; a new mobile phone upgrade perhaps or you could put the money towards a holiday, an iPad or just save it for a rainy day. As new mobile phone models are being launched every week, there’s no better time to sell your old mobile phones as their value will continue to depreciate, so why not get the maximum value for your old phones and recycle it with Fonebank today.
